Overview

One of the best tools to be a great designer is to have a wide visual vocabulary. The history of graphic design reflects not only what people thought during a given time, but how they felt. Therefore, building a visual library of images stored in your memory, gives you a strong foundation to solve problems - visually and culturally. This course provides a foundation in graphic design history. We will highlight:

1) Examine graphic design’s contribution to culture
2) Provide a historical perspective of the evolution of graphic design
3) Refine critical and analytic writing skills about graphic design
4) Spark your curiosity
